Bachelorette Weekend and Couples Shower

After settling in Texas for a couple weeks it was exciting to come back to South Florida for our Couples Shower and our Bachelor/Bachelorette weekend. I could not believe I was escaping the Texas heat to come to Florida, that was a first. We stayed at the gorgeous Fountain Bleau Hotel, in Miami Beach. I started off with a relaxing massage then it was off to the pool area to enjoy the ocean breeze. I could not wait to see my friends that night to celebrate. The girls and I went to the Hard Rock for my Bachelorette party. I had a fun filled night with my friends but it had to be tame because I had to get up the next day to celebrate our couples shower at the Sunday House, in Delray Beach. It was an unforgettable weekend with family and friends!

Texas here we come...

Once we were engaged it was time to start the planning of our wedding. We decided to get married at the Ritz Carlton, Palm Beach, it is absolutely gorgeous. The resort is located directly on the ocean and the interior has a modern tropical feel to it, very elegant.  We chose that location because we knew we wanted to have an outdoor ceremony with the ocean as our backdrop.  It was hard to pick a date, but we knew we wanted to get married in September. I wanted to get married towards the end of September for cooler not so humid weather however, Matt was quick to remind me of an important Florida Gator game so, he won and we got married Labor Day weekend, September 5, 2009.

Let's rewind, prior to us getting married Matt and I moved to Dallas, TX 3 months before the wedding - WOW. Let's just say I was not the most excited person because I am a planner and that threw a wrench in the planning of our wedding. I thought, how was I going to finalize all the vendors from Dallas in just a short amount of time? It all worked out and we had the most amazing wedding and weather. We were so blessed to be with our family and friends to celebrate one of the most important times in our life.

I was so grateful to have Gregory Paul Photography do our engagement photos as well as our wedding day. The pictures came out amazing!

Happy 30th Matt!!

2008 was an exciting year, Matt turned 30 and I had a surprise dinner at Moquila in Boca Raton, FL with our close friends. It was hard to keep this dinner a secret from Matt, but the look on his face was priceless when he walked in to see his friends there to celebrate his birthday. I had the cake made at Costco, I love their frosting - YUM! My birthday present to Matt was a scrapbook that I made of our first year together, it was made with love and he LOVED it.  We continued with the birthday festivities at The Hard Rock in Ft.Lauderdale for the weekend. We had a blast at their pool, we rented a cabana for the day and just relaxed while enjoying the sun.

Go Gators!

Matt took me to my first college football game at "The Swap" in Gainesville, FL. Florida played Hawaii in the game opener August 30, 2008. We met up with Matt's friends that weekend to enjoy the festivities on campus. I was excited to go to the game and see what I missed by not attending a large university with an amazing football team. I actually regret not attending University of Florida after seeing how much fun I had that weekend, I think I might have enjoyed my time there instead of attending Lynn University. I guess things happen for a reason.

4th of July, 2008

We celebrated 4th of July, 2008 with the McCutchen family in North Carolina. The mountains in North Carolina are amazing and picturesque, we always look forward to going every year. We are grateful to stay at Erin and Ken's mountain house to spend time with the family and especially Kate, as she was less than a year old. There are so many activities to do while you are in the mountains, Matt played golf with Ken, Erin and his father most of the time.

The Beginning.....

Matt and I met in Ft. Lauderdale, FL July 2007. I always get asked, "How did you guys meet each other?" well, the truth is... Match.com. Yes folks, it really works. How else are two busy professional people going to meet each other is this fast pace society. Our first date was at the Samba Room on Las Olas Blvd and the rest is history as they say. In the year that Matt and I met we had an exciting travel itinerary. We went to: Islamorda, FL; Amelia Island, FL;  Naples, FL; Dallas, TX; Raleigh, NC; Bora Bora, Tahiti. It was a fantastic year, Matt taught me how to golf and I encouraged Matt to get certified as a Scuba Diver. Matt's first open water dive was in Bora Bora, he is forever spoiled as a diver. It doesn't get any better diving the reefs in Bora Bora.

On our 1 year anniversary Matt surprised me and took me to The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL and asked me to marry him. It was so romantic and perfect, over looking the ocean in this amazing resort. The weather was just right, not too humid. He knew me so well to have the ideal location. I was so happy that I was going to marry my best friend and spend the rest of my life with an extraordinary man.
